Carmina Burana! People who worry that "classical" music might be boring or monotonous haven't heard Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, with its driving rhythms and powerful melodies. As for the texts, they include sexy love lyrics, rollicking drinking songs, zesty sinners' so-called confessions, wild hymns to gambling and gluttony, and a litany to Lady Luck. The Marquette Choral Society will perform this exuberant work on May 14 & 15 in Reynolds Auditorium on the campus of Northern Michigan University. Come and prepare to be dazzled.
